Air Jordan 14 was the very last Air Jordan model that Michael wore in NBA before his retirement. On January 13,1999,Michael announced his retirement from the NBA basketball for the second time.This style was inspired by Michael's car,the Ferrari 550 M,and was made by Tinker Hatfield together with Mark Smith. This was the first Air Jordan that would feature laces with metal tips.Air Jordan 14 purple black released alongside the white-based colorway, and both of these were LS releases. This colorway, like the other one, was not labeled LS on the box tag. Apparel was made to match these sneakers as well. This also gave us a new look at the Air Jordan 14 Retro as it contained a full nubuck upper.
